High Holiday Challah Workshop

Please join us for our first baking workshop after the summer months. This special challah workshop will focus on specialty challah for the holiday season, while working on the foundation of a traditional challah. During this three-hour session, participants will learn by both demonstration and hands-on time how to mix, knead, braid, and bake challah for successful home baking.

Participants will prepare two challah – one round raisin and honey challah, as well as one traditional three-strand braided challah. A stuffed sweet marzipan challah and various braiding techniques will also be demonstrated. One challah will be baked in Liv Breads’ deck oven and one will be frozen, ready for proofing and baking at home. 

This class is only open to adults over the age of 18.

Instructor: Bary Yogev has over 15 years of experience as a bread baker in Israel. He has also taught for many years as an instructor at Danon Culinary School in Tel Aviv, both professional-level as well as recreational classes. He currently splits his time between Israel and New Jersey.
